At Ducking Technology, we strive to fill the technology gap in our surrounding communities. Currently, 75,000 Oregon students do not have a personal computer to complete their online assignments. We strive to fix this by providing computers or laptops to our community at little to no cost. We do this by taking in old technology the community is not using and refurbish them to give back out.
Computer adoption
27% of Americans do not own a computer. And one out of ten families do not have internet at home. This lack of access is sharply stratified along lines of income, race, age and education. Low-income families, immigrants, seniors and children are digitally under-connected, many with mobile-only internet access, which often isn’t enough.
